Latest economic figures for Ghana – January 2017

  1. GDP growth rate is 4% as at Q3 2016.
  2. Inflation for December 2016 was 15.4%.
  3. Monetary policy rate is 25.5%.
  4. Interbank lending rate 25.26% as at December 2016.
  5. Average lending rate is 32% as at November 2016.
  6. Total Exports as at December 2016 is $11.1bn. Gold $4,919.50 (44.47%). Cocoa $2,424 (21.92%). Oil $1,413.4m (12.78%)
  7. Total Imports as at October 2016 $12.7bn. Oil $1,659.2m (13%).
  8. Deficit is 7% of GDP as at November 2016.
  9. External debt as at September 2016 is GH¢66bn (39.6% of GDP).
  10. Domestic debt as at September 2016 is GH¢53.9bn (32.3% of GDP).
  11. Non-Performing loans (of banks) as at December 2016 is 17.4%.
