Latest economic figures for Ghana – July 2021

  1. Provisional GDP growth rate for Q1 2021 is 3.1%.
  2. Inflation as at June 2021 was 7.8%.
  3. Monetary policy rate is 13.5%.
  4. Interbank lending rate was 12.88% as at June 2021.
  5. Average lending rate was 20.61% as at June 2021.
  6. Total Exports as at June 2021 was US$7.59 billion. Gold Exports US$2.67 billion (35%). Cocoa Exports US$1.74 billion (23%). Oil Exports US$1.76 billion (23%).
  7. Total Imports as at June 2021 was US$6.76 billion. Oil imports was US$1.21 billion (22%).
  8. Trade surplus as at June 2021 was US$837.5 million (1.2% of GDP).
  9. Current account deficit for as at June 2021 was US$926.1 million (1.3% of GDP).
  10. Budget deficit as at May 2021 was 4.6% of GDP.
  11. External debt as at May 2021 was GH¢161.5bn (37.2% of GDP).
  12. Domestic debt as at May was GH¢170.8bn (39.4% of GDP).
  13. Total Public debt as at May 2021 was GH¢332.4bn (76.6% of GDP).
  14. Non-Performing loans (of banks) as at June 2021 was 17%.
  15. Active mobile money accounts were 18.3 million as at June 2021.
  16. Market capitalisation of the GSE was GH¢61.3 billion as at June 2021.
